Tesco moves UK executive 3 weeks after share sale reveal Wednesday, 1st February 2012
Tesco has decided to move Bob Robbins from his role as UK chief operating officer, three weeks after it was revealed the executive sold stock ahead of a profit warning that sent the firm’s shares into freefall. According to an internal announcement seen by Reuters, Robbins iwll now work directly for group chief executive Philip Clarke “on a number of initiatives.”
Robbins sold 50,000 shares at 404.51 pence each on 4 January, netting around £202,000 for the sale, just eight days before the retailer reported its biggest drop in underlying sales in decades.

Tesco’s Big Price Drop rings in 1 million extra purchases a week Tuesday, 18th October 2011
The supermarket’s much lauded Big Price Drop initiative has stimulated an extra 1 million transactions per week, since it began three weeks ago. According to Tesco, the chain processed more than 45 million transactions after the initiative began. Over 10 million Clubcard customers have taken advantage of the lower prices, which saw a mass-scale price reduction across 3,000 household staples.
