Rooney Mara become new face of Calvin Klein fragrance Friday, 17th May 2013
Hollywood actress Rooney Mara has been unveiled as the new face of Calvin Klein’s newest fragrance, Downturn, and the company estimate that the fragrance could accumulate USD 120 million in retail sales globally. The company have said that they hope the fragrance will rival its flagship women’s scent, Euphoria, which has proved particularly popular with customers.

L’Oreal H1 profit up more than 11% Wednesday, 29th August 2012
The world’s largest cosmetics and beauty company has revealed its operating profit rose 11.4 per cent in the first half, thanks to a continued demand for luxury cosmetics products. Based in Paris, L’Oreal confirmed it expected to out-perform the market with increasing profits and sales this year, which grew to EUR 11.21 billion for the first half.

Diptyque signs for Leadenhall Market Thursday, 2nd August 2012
The luxury Parisian perfumer has signed on another store in London, as it looks to bring its cult French fragrances to the British capital. Diptyque is set to open the doors to a brand new shop in the City’s historic Leadenhall Market. Having completed in mid-June, the perfumer will be looking to begin trading within the next few months.

Burberry ends Interparfum partnership Friday, 27th July 2012
British fashion power house Burberry has announced it has chosen to end an almost 20-year old partnership with Interparfums as it looks to develop its beauty business. Burberry has confirmed it will pay Interparfums approximately EUR 181 million to terminate its contract, after failing to agree on favourable terms with the French company.

Perfume sales give Boots a spritz at Christmas Monday, 16th January 2012
Underlying sales at Boots increased more than 4 per cent during the five weeks to 31 December, as shoppers chose to fill up their baskets with last minute gifts. Christmas sales brought in a marked improvement for the last six months at Boots, when sales fell into negative territory to the end of September due to tough trading conditions on the high street.

Sephora eyes Latin American expansion Friday, 30th December 2011
Sephora is planning to roll out 10 to 12 stores in Latin America in the next two years as it moves to capitalise on the region’s promising beauty market. Paula Larroque, Latin America senior vice president of the French perfumery chain told press the retailer will make its debut in São Paulo, Brazil, next April.
