Asos first quarter sales rise 30% Tuesday, 11th December 2012
Online fashion retailer Asos managed to beat analysts’ forecasts with another set of heady results for its first quarter. The retailer on Tuesday announced total retail sales rose 30 per cent to £165.8 million in the three months to 30 November, thanks to strong trading in its domestic UK market and overseas.

Asos shares take a dive as directors sell off shares totalling £48m Friday, 26th October 2012
Shares in the online fashion website fell 7 per cent to £21.57 on the back of reports that a handful of the retailer’s directors had sold off a chunk of Asos stock. Asos chief executive Nick Robertson sold 744,792 shares at the discounted rate of £21.50, raiding £16 million.

Asos posts 40% rise in annual profit Thursday, 25th October 2012
Asos on Thursday announced a 40 per cent rise in year profit, with strong trading overseas managing to offset a slower domestic market in the UK. The online-only fashion retailer has long been the one to watch for its engaging ecommerce strategy, and annual figures on Thursday showed why: Asos reported back on a pro forma underlying pretax profit of £44.5 million for the year to 31 August, above analysts’ consensus forecast of £44 million, and well above the £31.7 million reached for the same period the year before.

Amazon considering an Asos takeover? Monday, 22nd October 2012
The world’s largest online retailer is thought to be considering a bid for Asos, as it looks to strengthen its presence in fashion retailer. According to sources cited by the Sunday Telegraph, Amazon looked through Asos’ books earlier this year, but are yet to confirm any negotiations.

Asos reveals former Amazon MD as new chairman Monday, 1st October 2012
Asos on Monday revealed former Amazon managing director Brian McBride is set to take the reins as chairman of the firm. Having spent nearly six years as Amazon’s UK managing director, as well as previous posts at IBM, Dell and T-Mobile, McBride will now take over from Waheed Alli as chairman of the fashion retailer on 1 November.

ASOS spring/summer campaign 2012. Speculation over a change at the top mounts as ASOS product director Robert Bready sells his entire shareholding in the retailer. The online fashion company is now working to quell rumours that Bready is on the way out, insisting that the key director has neither resigned or has plans to leave.

Claire Danes for ASOS Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook, ASOS revealed a 43 per cent rise in year profit as strong growth overseas managed to offset the temperamental UK market. Pre-tax profit for the year to 31 March rose to £40.9 million, compared with analysts’ average forecast of £40.3 million.

Asos profit leaps 66%, but UK sales hit by sudden slowdown Thursday, 3rd November 2011
Online fashion retailer Asos has reported a 66 per cent rise in first-half profit, with strong growth in overseas sales offsetting a sharp slowdown in the UK. Asos said it made underlying pretax profit of £11.7 million in the six months to 30 September, compared with £7.0 million in the same period last year.
