Prada Group is set to continue its steady rate of global expansion as it looks to open up to 80 new stores in 2013, focusing on Asia, the Gulf countries and North America. Mulberry presses on with global expansion Thursday, 2nd May 2013
Seemingly unperturbed by profit warnings, luxury brand Mulberry is set to ramp up expansion plans over the current fiscal year, eyeing new locations across northern Europe, Asia, the US and Canada. According to WWD, Mulberry’s first stand-alone store located on Belin’s Kurfürstendamm is the first of a handful planned for Germany.

Stella McCartney’s whistle stop tour Wednesday, 24th April 2013
Stella McCartney’s eponymous label is set to continue its expansion into Europe and Asia, having recently opened new stores in Sweden, Denmark and Japan. According to WWD, McCartney is set to celebrate the launch of her two new stores in both Stockholm and Copenhagen on Friday, ahead of a visit to Tokyo in May to see the city's second Stella McCartney store, which opened just last week.

Valentino ready to expand as board grants €250m Tuesday, 16th April 2013
Valentino is set to invest EUR 250 in the global expansion and marketing of the brand. The Italian luxury house got the green light from its board earlier this week, and is now set to invest a total EUR 250 million in a strategic expansion plan. Valentino, which saw its full-year profit end at EUR 32 million, is aiming at doubling its retail presence within the next 4 to 5 years.

The historic fashion house of Missoni this week celebrated the relaunch of its flagship store in Milan’s Via Sant’Andrea in time for Milan Design Week and the Salone del Mobile. The 400 square metre Missoni store featured a new interior concept designed by well-known architect Patricia Urquiola, with the aim of reflecting the spirit of the Varese fashion house famed for its iconic prints, clothing, homewear and lifestyle hotels.

Russia’s X5 sales rise 8.1% for Q1 Friday, 12th April 2013
X5 Retail Group, one of Russia’s largest supermarket operators, has reported an 8.1 per cent increase in first quarter net sales, thanks to new store openings. The first three months of 2013 saw net selling space grow by 12.4 per cent for the retailer, although total like-for-like sales came in flat, up just 0.5 per cent for the quarter.

Prada beats forecasts as Q4 profit surges 36% Friday, 5th April 2013
The Italian fashion power house reported a 36 per cent rise in net profit for the fourth quarter to EUR 217 million, as it focuses its next stage of global expansion on the Middle East and the Americas. Prada SpA managed to beat the average forecast for its final quarter to 31 March, which was set at EUR 202 million in a poll by Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

Interserve to build new shopping centre in Edinburgh Wednesday, 3rd April 2013
Interserve is to construct a new shopping centre in Edinburgh, next to Haymarket train station. The planned development is the result of British construction company Interserve signing a deal with Scottish landowner Tiger Developments. The project is predicted to cost approximately £160.5 million and could result in 3,500 new jobs being created.
