Maxine Hargreaves- Adams, the daughter of Matalan founder John Hargreaves and the new owner of Nicole Farhi and Fenn Wright Manson, is said to be busy planning a revival for the designer labels. Based in Monaco, Hagreaves-Adams told the Guardian that she is now looking to expand both fashion brands internationally, after investing more than £5.4 million of her own money into the Farhi and Fenn Wright Manson labels.

Waitrose set to expand c-store roll-out

Waitrose has announced it will continue to roll-out its convenience store, little Waitrose format stores over the next year, creating up to 650 new roles at the retailer. The grocer says it plans to increase its presence in the next 12 months through at least ten new little Waitrose shops.

Unilever eyes emerging markets for expansion

The world’s third largest consumer goods company on Tuesday revealed it will be expanding further into emerging markets. Speaking to the BBC’s Jonathan Head, Unilever chief executive Paul Polman said he wanted the company to expand into new markets, strengthening the company’s name as a universal brand.

After Topshop, Arcadia now in talks to expand Miss Selfridge in US

Sir Philip Green’s Arcadia Group is said to be in talks to expand its presence in the US after the initial success of its stateside Topshop stores. WWD reported Arcadia this week unveiled its first US “group preview” of its Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Evans and Wallis brands in Manhattan.
