OFT accuses DB Apparel and three department stores of anti-competitive price fixing

Three department stores have today been accused of price fixing with leading underwear brand DB Apparel on a range of Shock Absorber sports bras. Debenhams, House Of Fraser, and John Lewis are all being accused by the Office of Fair Trading of being in serious breach of competition law, by agreeing fixed or minimum prices for the bras.

With just over a month to go until Debenhams’ full year results, the department store group on Tuesday revealed it is on track to meet City forecasts. The retailer, which operates 172 stores across the UK, Ireland and Denmark, this morning released a trading update ahead of its full year results in the 52 weeks to 31 August.

Marc Jacobs unveils male make-up range

Marc Jacobs has launched a beauty line in collaboration with Sephora that includes a range specifically designed for men. The latest range is the company’s attempt to cash in on the lucrative male grooming sector. The range starts from £15 and also includes a seven-shade eyeshadow palette for £37.

Debenhams, Halfords and Hummingbird Bakery make Online Retail Awards 2013 shortlist

Debenhams, Halfords, Hummingbird Bakery and MADE.COM have all been shortlisted for the 2013 Online Retail Awards, now in its fifth year of recognising excellence in the e-commerce sector. Open to all online retails across all platforms, the 2013 shortlist includes some high street stalwarts as well as some new kids on the block: three-year-old homeware brand Urbanara features alongside department store Debenhams and MADE.COM, while young British company Natural Balance Foods competes with 9-year old Hummingbird Bakery.

The World Retail Congress unveils shortlist of finalists for this year's award ceremony

The World Retail Congress has now revealed the final shortlist for the annual World Retail Awards. A record number of entrants were picked for this year’s awards, encompassing an eclectic range of retail sectors and countries from around the world. However, a 16-strong panel of expert judges, all of whom are senior retail leaders, have selected the finalists they believe to be the most outstanding and worthy of a place in the final.
