The World Retail Congress has now revealed the final shortlist for the annual World Retail Awards. A record number of entrants were picked for this year’s awards, encompassing an eclectic range of retail sectors and countries from around the world. However, a 16-strong panel of expert judges, all of whom are senior retail leaders, have selected the finalists they believe to be the most outstanding and worthy of a place in the final.

The department store group found the average gift for dads in 2012 came to £16, dropping to £12 in 2013. While kids might be cutting corners, Debenhams on Friday reported seeing a 7 per cent increase in people buying Father’s day gifts compared to last year, suggesting those that do buy something are just being more thrifty with their Father’s Day purchases.
