Sweden’s Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) will enter the Latin American market by the end of 2012, opening its first store in Mexico City. WWD on Monday reported that the new store will be one of the largest for H&M in the world. “It will be the perfect first step for H&M [to enter] this fashion-conscious region,” said Karl-Johan Persson, chief executive officer of H&M, as reported by WWD.
Fans of the Academy Award and Golden Globe winner will be treated to another installation of Coppola goodness this spring. H&M have just announced the Lost in Translation creator will direct its campaign film to support the launch of Marni at H&M on 8 March 2012.
Marni has confirmed that it will collaborate with cosmetics giant Estée Lauder to produce a scent for release in 2012.
Lauder’s spokeswoman Veronique Gabai-Pinsky has commented that “wearing Marni is like wearing a piece of art”. According to well-known beauty publications, the scent will have to potential to be as iconic as house fragrances by Jean-Paul Gaultier and Moschino.
