Kate Spade eyes expansion across the UK and Europe Friday, 2nd September 2011
US womenswear retailer Kate Spade is planning to expand across the UK and Europe if its first standalone stores in London prove successful.
The company opened a 1,800 square foot store in Chelsea this week and a second smaller store in Covent Garden will follow later this month. Kate Spade also trialled a pop-up shop in London's Covent Garden in October this year.
It has been reported that the brand is already eyeing locations in London, Paris and Berlin and also that the company may push the button on a roll-out if its debut stores proves successful.
Kate Spade is currently experiencing a period of international growth and is set to open three stores this autumn in Dubai, Kuwait City and Abu Dhabi in order to add to the 89 stores it already operates in Asia. The company also signed a joint partnership to open stores in China.
