After ten years of the quintessentially British brand, Temperley will now launch its first collection for the UK high street at John Lewis. Named Somerset after designer Alice Temperley’s home county, the 60-piece collection will launch in John Lewis stores and online on 4 September, along with a campaign staring Lily Donaldson.

John Lewis sales rose for the week to 21 April thanks to strong trading in the retailer’s household goods department. “Indifferent” weather and demand for televisions in time for the digital switchover in London helped John Lewis report a 16.5 per cent year on year increase in sales to £62 million the week.

The department store has announced a new venture into the broadband market as it looks to compete in new markets. According to the Telegraph, John Lewis will provide three levels of home broadband to customers, with packages at £11 to £25 a month, on a 12-month contract.

Save it for a rainy day: with sales up 27.5 per cent year-on-year, John Lewis hails “stunning” weeks trade in the seven days running up to Easter Sunday. The dreary weather may have put a dampener on school holiday activities, but it was good news for the department store chain, which saw sales rise 27.5 per cent year-on-year to £66.7 million in the week to 7 April.
