Dolce & Gabbana announce London store opening Friday, 17th May 2013
Dolce & Gabbana are set to open its fourth London store on June 15th, coinciding with an event they are joint hosting with GQ magazine. The store, located at 53-55 New Bond Street, will be part of the inaugural London Collections Men’s calendar, in which its Summer 2014 Tailoring Collection for men is expected to be showcased.

Calypso St. Barth set to complete California expansion Thursday, 16th May 2013
The American women’s clothing and apparel brand, Calypso St. Barth, are due to open three stores in Southern California this summer, in a plan to expand its bricks and mortar outlets from 39 to 45 by the end of the year. The stores due to open are located at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles in July, with two more stores due to open later in the summer in Malibu and Montecito.

DDR Corp set to acquire raft of shopping centres in $1.46bn deal Thursday, 16th May 2013
Photo credit: DDR Corp. DDR Corp. is reportedly planning to acquire a portfolio of shopping centres from its joint venture with Blackstone Group, in a deal said to be worth USD 1.46 billion. The deal, which is expected to close by the fourth quarter, with see DDR acquire 95 per cent of Blackstone’s equity ownership stake in 30 of 44 shopping centres owned under the joint venture.

Plans for Westfield Milan launch underway for 2016 Wednesday, 15th May 2013
Already considered one of the most prestigious fashion capitals in the world, Milan is set to get a taste for the mega outlet shopping mall as plans involving Westfield and Arcus Real Estate get underway. Westfield Milan is expected to cover 230,000 square metres of GLA, with 170,000 square metre GLA to be released in the first phase, estimated for early 2016.

British Land announces plans to exit mainland Europe Tuesday, 14th May 2013
Puerto Venecia centre, Zaragoza. Property giant British Land on Tuesday revealed it intends to exit mainland Europe after its retail properties in the region lost almost a fifth of their value last year. British Land said its mainland European properties fell 17 per cent in value in the year to the end of March, as Spain and Italy continued to battle the effects of an economic crisis.

New lingerie floor opens at Galeries Lafayette Monday, 13th May 2013
The luxury French department store, Galeries Lafayette, has revamped its lingerie department in its quest to reorganise its flagship. The new 37,675-square-foot lingerie section features 50 brands, 10 of which are new to the store, including exclusive French company, Maidenform, Esprit and Agent Provocateur.

Trinity Leeds exceeds footfall expectations as 2 million make beeline for new centre Monday, 13th May 2013
Trinity Leeds owners Land Securities report footfall came in ahead of expectations in the centre’s debut month, as more than 2 million shoppers visited the city’s brand new complex. The new, 93,000 square metre centre recorded opening day footfall of 132,000 visitors, with 1 million in the first 10 days and 2.7 million in the first month.
