Topshop will open in Canada by end of year in franchising deal with Hudson's Bay Company Wednesday, 9th March 2011

After the success of their New York opening, Topshop are now set to bring their quintessentially British brand of fashion to Vancouver and Montreal stores.

Between 30 and 50 Topshop outlets are planned for opening within the next five years in a franchising deal with Hudson's Bay Company (HBC), who operate department stores across Canada.

HBC are expected to confirm the deal later today, with reports that David Kutas, a former Gucci vice-president and general merchandise manager will head up the Topshop franchise. It is thought the deal will see HBC buy product from Topshop and pay a royalty based on purchases.

The first outlet is expected to open in Toronto this autumn.
