UK retail sales increase in October Tuesday, 30th October 2012

Retail Industry News

UK retail sales increased to a larger extent than was originally forecast in October, according to a survey by the Confederation of British Industry.

The CBI distributive trades survey’s balance rose to +30 from +6 in September, with analysts originally forecasting a jump of +7.

The expected sales balance for November is +27.

According to the CBI, the sales rise was driven by increases in the sales of clothing and furniture.
