John Lewis reports 14% sales boost Friday, 28th September 2012

Sales at John Lewis have jumped 14.2 per cent.

The department store chain prospered online  for the week ending 22 September, with web sales rising to 39.8 per cent as women’s and men’s outwear continued to sell well.

Fashion sales were up 13.9 per cent on the same period last year.

Homeware sales were up 7.1 per cent, with the ‘House by John Lewis’ range delivering seven per cent week-on-week growth and technology for the home also saw a lift.

John Lewis LFL growth was 9.6% versus the High Street's 6.5%, according to Singer Capital Markets.

Electricals and Home Technology was again the stand out performer at John Lewis and Non-Fashion stood out in the BDO sales tracker.
