Asos reports 31% sales boost Thursday, 20th September 2012

Asos has stepped up its UK growth strategy in an effort to counteract the negative effects of the recession.

The e-tailer today reported a sales increase of 31 per cent in the three months to 31 August to £145 million.

Sales were up 15 per cent in the United Kingdom, up from an eight per cent rise in the previous quarter.

The UK currently represents around 39 per cent of Asos sales. In the last quarter sales grew by 42 per cent outside the country, including 65 per cent in the United States.

Asos just opened a New York office and is planning to do the same in Germany and France.
