Sports Direct eyes JJB Monday, 17th September 2012
JJB is close to being snapped up by rival Sports Direct International in a deal which will see the former close half its stores and risk the jobs of thousands of employees, according to a report released today.
Sports Direct is understood to be close to buying the most profitable stores from JJB in a pre-pack administration.
The Office of Fair Trading is likely to get involved if any attempt to buy JJB is made by Sports Direct.
More than half of JJB’s 180 stores are expected to close if the deal goes ahead.
