Abercrombie & Fitch and Savile Row trade blows over childrenswear store Saturday, 25th August 2012

The burgeoning war between Abercrombie & Fitch and Savile Row reached fever pitch this week after the American chain was told by Westminster Council that they would not be able to celebrate the opening of the new childrenswear store at Number 3 Savile Row with a celebrity-studded party.

Abercrombie & Fitch would also be unable to play music that could be heard on the street and buggies belonging to customers would not be able to park on the outside pavement.

The all-American retailer has lodged a complaint against the measures, which were put in place to placate Savile Row’s unhappy tailors, and a final decision will now be made at a public planning inquiry.
