JD Sports offloads Canterbury for £1 Friday, 24th August 2012
JD Sports yesterday sold off rugby kit maker Canterbury for the princely sum of £1.
The business was snapped up by sportswear maker Pentland, which will also take on £22.7 million worth of debt at the firm.
Peter Cowgill, chairman of JD Sports, said the sale offered appealing terms for the retailer and a good opportunity for the Canterbury brand to grow.
