M&S boss asks for a year to turn fashion business around Monday, 16th July 2012
Marks & Spencer chief executive Marc Bolland has asked shareholders for 12 months to turn the department store’s ailing fashion business around.
After reporting “disappointing” quarterly results last week, Bolland has taken action in an effort to turn the retailer around.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Bolland said: “It will all come at the right time. The new store concept will roll out, we will be opening two international stores a week and the internet is growing faster than the rest of the market.”
Bolland also announced that Belinda Earl, formerly chief executive of Debenhams and later Jaeger, is to join the company as style director from September.
