Valentino could be changing hands as reports emerge that the Italian fashion house has caught the eye of the Qatari royal family.

According to Sky News, the Emir of Qatar is thought to be close to finalising a deal to buy the Valentino label from current owners Permira, in a deal worth around £550 million.

An announcement could be made as early as this week, although Sky News suggested that a deal is yet to be confirmed.

If the acquisition where to take place, it’s thought the Qatari family, who own London department store Harrods, would also acquire the M Missoni brand in the process.
