John Lewis total sales up 17% Friday, 6th July 2012

Early clearance sales have boosted sales at John Lewis this week, with the department store reporting a double digit increase.
For the week ending 30th June John Lewis reported a 17 per cent increase in total sales.
Homewares saw a 11.9 per cent boost in sales thanks to heavy discounts. Sales of cooking and dining utilities rose 13 per cent.
Olympic merchandise sold 12.8 per cent as consumers get into the sporting spirit.
