It’s bad news for Boden and Marks & Spencer after the retailers came in last and second last place respectively in a survey to determine the best ‘value for money’ clothing brand in the UK.
As part of research conducted by GfK, shoppers were asked to choose the best ‘value for money’ and ‘design and quality’ from a range of seven fashion retailers. In a blind test, participants voted Primark the best value for money, followed by Tesco’s F+F, Sainsbury’s Tu, H&M, Next, M&S, and finally Boden.
Next was voted best ‘design and quality’, with M&S managing to come in joint second place with Primark, followed by Boden, Tu, H&M and F+F in last place.
According to the Daily Mail, GfK’s research found that only 20 per cent of those questioned believed Boden clothing deserved its price tag, whilst only 41 per cent could say the same for M&S. By stark comparison, 88 per cent of shoppers thought Primark pieces were worth their price tag.
