Thomas Pink has unveiled its first South African store located in Johannesburg’s upmarket Hyde Park Corner shopping centre.

The new store is the first in a handful the prestigious British brand has planned for the country, as it seeks to tap into emerging markets that have not been so affected by the eurozone crisis and credit crunch.

Speaking ahead of the official launch, Thomas Pink merchandising, buying and distribution director Melanie Traub told Business Report that “we are looking to expand internationally” although the locations of further stores have not been finalised.

It’s thought at least one more store could be planned for Gauteng, with Durban and Cape Town also in consideration as be potential locations.
