The premium retail brand from Swedish Hennes & Mauritz is preparing to set sail once more, opening a new store half way round the world in Hong Kong later this month.

According to WWD, COS has already started on the expansion campaign trail, hosting a preview of its fall-winter collection at Hong Kong arts centre Galerie Perrotin, with a number of local artists, writers and journalists in attendance.

The retailer’s first store in Asia will open on 28 June, located near its parent brand H&M, which already operates eleven stores in the city.

Marie Honda, H&M's overall brand responsible for COS, told WWD that the city was an appropriate spot for the store.

"Hong Kong has so much culture and heritage, mixed with the new and modern," she said. "There is so much happening here."

Honda went on to confirm that COS had no plans yet for any additional stores in China or Asia.
