Pandora is the latest retailer to sign up to the British Retail Consortium (BRC), joining a bevy of other jewellery brands including Ernest Jones, Goldsmiths, H Samuel and Watches of Switzerland.

With over 400 points of sale in the UK, Pandora now directly employs 150 people, while supporting hundreds more through its franchising business.

Peter Andersen, Pandora President of Western Europe, said: "The BRC is a highly regarded organisation and an important voice for UK retail. We are pleased to now be a member and feel we will bring another dimension to the Consortium. We admire their lobbying abilities and influence within our Government and we are excited about our association."

Stephen Robertson, BRC Director General, said: "The strength of the BRC lies in its broad membership base, and adding Pandora to our growing family makes us even stronger. The more of retailing we represent, the better we are able to press politicians at every level to create conditions that allow all our members to thrive. This is a clear vote of confidence in the effectiveness of the BRC's lobbying, technical expertise and retail intelligence, and we are excited to be working with the company."

The Danish jeweller will have plenty to celebrate this week, with the re-launch of its Elys of Wimbledon concession giving shoppers the perfect excuse to drop by the Pandora stand for a glass of bubbly on Saturday. Cupcakes and champagne will be served from 9am- 7pm alongside Pandora’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, as well as promotional activity from the brand.
