Westfield to offload US malls? Thursday, 29th March 2012

The world’s second largest shopping mall owner is reported to be considering the sale of seven of its US stores.

The Wall Street Journal cited two sources close to the deal thought to be worth around USD 1 billion, in which Westfield would sell seven of its stores in the US to Starwood Capital Group.

Although the stores in question have not been identified, five of the seven would be among the 17 Westfield put up for sale early last year.
