Kingfisher profits rocket 19% Thursday, 22nd March 2012

Kingfisher has reported a 19 per cent boost in annual profit.

The group, which owns B&Q, Castorama and Brico Depot, made £797 million in 2011.

Sales in the UK and Republic of Ireland fell 1.4 per cent, although in France the company reported a like-for-like sales growth of 3.7 per cent.

The group opened 53 Screwfix stores last year – double the amount originally planned.
