Starbucks posts 10% profit boost Friday, 27th January 2012
Starbucks has posted a 10 per cent profits boost in the three months to 1 January 2012.
Net profit came in at USD 382.1 million compared with a USD 346.6 million a year earlier. Revenues increase 16 per cent to USD 3.44 billion.
The coffee chain opened 241 stores across the quarter and plans to open 11 new cafes in the UK over the next five years.
Chief executive Howard Schultz said: "Starbucks continues to expand our global footprint and accelerate the innovation and momentum in our consumer products group business."
