Booker reports strong growth Thursday, 13th January 2011
Booker Group has again achieved sales growth far in excess of the multiple retail sector with overall sales up 7.2% in the 16 weeks to December 31 and a like-for-like sales increase of 5.4%, compared with the same period last year. Non-tobacco like-for-like sales rose by 5.5%, while like-for-like tobacco sales were up 5.1%. Booker said customer numbers and average spend per customer both increased, and sales of fruit and vegetables performed particularly well with sales up 54%. Read more on wholesalenews.co.uk
