Brighthouse announce 'clicks-and-mortar' plans Thursday, 7th July 2011

The rent-to-buy electrical and furniture retailer will launch an e-commerce website within the next 18 months.

A transactional website will offer shoppers the opportunity to buy stock such as tablets and Blackberrys from the retailer, purchases that are becoming increasingly popular for the chain.

“We’re looking at our clicks-and-mortar strategy closely. Our customers are in cyberspace so we need to be in cyberspace too.” Brighthouse chief executive Leo McKee told press.

The news comes as Brighthouse begins an updated expansion programme that will add 30 stores a year to the business’ store portfolio.
