Illegal downloading of music cost the UK industry nearly £1bn this year, the BPI claimed today, as it produced research showing online piracy is still growing.The industry body said 1.2bn digital music tracks – just under three out of every four downloaded this year – were illegally acquired in 2010, citing a report it commissioned from the market research company Harris Interactive. more on Guardian
